About Humboldt Wildlife Care Center

The Humboldt Wildlife Care Center, established in 1979, is a non-profit, permitted, all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation of orphaned and injured wildlife in Humboldt, Trinity, and Del Norte Counties. Our ultimate goal is to release strong and healthy animals back into their native habitat.

The HWCC provides care for most native species of birds and small mammals, including protected and endangered wildlife. Animals that cannot be treated by our organization are transported to other specialized rehabilitation centers.

About this campaign

We currently do not charge any fee to public schools for our wildlife conservation education programs. Other organizations charge as much as $50 for each presentation. We would like to continue our programs to schools free of charge. Our expenses for care of the live animals that are our partners in education (food and veterinary services) require money and like most non-profits, our donations have recently decreased.
